By traditional standards FWE is raising funds expensively. But in fact within Argentina interest rates are high and investment capital has virtually dried up. Thus the sale of land to international Investors in this fashion, despite the high investment returns, is their best form of finance, that can easily be met from land already in cultivation.

A UK legal and financial consultancy, act as the Investors agents, representing the investors interests throughout the investment.
Powerscourt Services Ltd is a legal and financial consultancy based in Cambridge UK. It has has created a secure structure for investment, to the satisfaction of private investors, who pay for the land through Powerscourt’s UK escrow account.
There is security in the form of the land itself. Under a shareholders agreement the local company can only sell three quarters of its estate. In the unlikely event of FWE breaching its obligations then the local company is obliged to sell the other quarter of the estate to raise funds in order to compensate investors. Since the actual value of land is 50% higher than the price paid by the investor, this will provide sufficient funds for such compensation, should this be required. The Investors UK agent (Powerscourt) will act for the investor in enforcing the shareholders agreement.
The land is priced at around 30% of UK land, with a discount of one third, building in added protection, should the investment fail.
The investor purchases a defined area of land at a discount of one third of its value using a very conservative, transparent method of land valuation Farmland in Northern Argentina, traditionally the granary of the world, is highly fertile, producing 2 crops per year, and is only around 30% of the price of UK farmland.
